The School Council plays a vital role at Sir John Heron - do you want to help make a difference in school?
There are two children elected from every class as school council representatives whose job is to make sure that every voice is heard. The councillors take responsibility and ask each and every individual child if they would like to make any effective changes to our school. The suggestions and feedback are shared with the Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary of the School Council during monthly meetings.
These suggestions are then brought to the attention of the adult in charge, who, in consultation with the Headteacher, will aim to make the necessary changes to make school a better place to learn.
Plans for the future
Here at the School Council we aim to make the future of this extraordinary school the best we can. Your voice can make a big difference for everyone in this school. We hope to tackle problems about the school that you may have and amend the school accordingly to the advice you give us. In the future, we will support many fundraisers such as Comic Relief to help the lives of the unfortunate. Next in line we will assist in raising funds for Sports Relief and will organise a Summer Fayre, which School Councillors will run.
You can ask School Councillors to contribute improvement ideas which they think will help the school become better. We have put up a pupil voice box where people can write their worries and we, School Councillors, write back in response. Miss Werrin sorts through your worries and we think thoughtfully about whether we can change the school consequently. If we and the school councillors can’t write back in reply, we think of an alternative to the worry. We hope you can help us make this school better and enjoy your education in this marvellous school.
