Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Sir John Heron Primary School.

Sir John Heron is a successful, two form entry primary school with a nursery and resource provision for PMLD children. The school is located in Manor Park, in East London, and serves a culturally diverse and vibrant community. At Sir John Heron, the majority of the children are multi-lingual and celebrate many of the major world religions; this makes the school an interesting place to learn.

We believe, for children to be successful in all walks of life, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are needed. This language rich approach is embedded within every subject and a dedicated oracy lesson is delivered weekly. The emphasis on strong communication skills, supports our pupils’ academic ability which can be seen through our excellent end of key stage results.

We pride ourselves in empowering our pupils to become inquisitive and responsible learners through our Learning Powers approach. Our children are confident at taking risks and resilient when faced with problems. These skills are transferred effectively to secondary school.

As the head teacher, I am proud of our pupils and their attitude to learning and I look forward to working with you and the community to further develop the school and learning outcomes.
