Falconry UK visit
This week, Year 1 to Year 6 had an exciting visitor—Falconry UK! The children got to meet six types of bird, including a Kookaburra and a Tawny frogmouth owl, and learn all about their differences. For example, how they hunt, i.e. with their talons or beaks, or whether they are nocturnal or diurnal. At the end of the session, the children met a Verreaux's eagle-owl, the third largest owl in the world and largest African owl! Some of the children and staff even had a close encounter…!
