This morning we had a huge number of parents who came into Reception for our Family Friday with a mathematics focus. Family Fridays are a valuable experience for both children and their parents. When parents are invited into the classroom, children have the opportunity to show off their mathematical skills and share their learning with the people who are closest to them. Additionally, it can provide parents with a first-hand look at what their child is learning in mathematics, the types of activities and play they are engaging in, and how they are being challenged and engaged in the learning process.  By participating in Family Friday sessions, parents can gain a deeper understanding of the mathematics that their child is learning and can use this knowledge to support their child's learning at home.
