Family Hub 'Talk & Tea' session
On Friday 30th January parents/ carers were invited to the Family Hub 'Tea & Talk' session in school. This was delivered by a team which consisted of Family Hubs Manager, Parenting and Partnership Lead, Early Help Practitioner and Parent Promoters. It was an opportunity for parents/ carers to find out what the family hubs are, where they are located and what free support is available through the family hub. Newham has four family hubs which are located at Shipman Youth Zone, East Ham Library, Manor Park Children’s Centre and United West Children’s Centre & Family Hub and other satellite sites. Each hub delivers workshops, activities, advice and support services from conception to 18 years (up to 25 years if the young person has additional needs).
The Family Hubs are tailored to meet your needs at the earliest preventing small challenges becoming bigger ones. Whether visiting a local hub, receiving outreach support, or accessing resources online, families can find the help they need, when they need it – making support more accessible, connected, and effective.
Family Hubs bring the following support services:
• Financial support and benefits advice
• Employment assistance
• Housing and homelessness support
• Domestic violence and abuse support
• Help for refugees and asylum seekers
• Alcohol and substance use support
• Parent and baby groups
• Stay and play sessions
• Parenting programmes
• Infant feeding programmes
• Youth activities
• Mental health and wellbeing
