Science Day
Last week we celebrated Science day! Children had the opportunity to watch science in action with a special Silly Science workshop. Children were all amazed and by the explosions and fun of the experiments shown. Children had to try and stand on eggs without cracking them and watched thrust and air resistance in action. Children then learnt about Mae C. Jemison the first African American woman in space. The children explored her life and learnt about significant moments. They then showcased their learning through a write up about her life.
In the class the children had to put on their scientist hats and carry out an investigation. Some year groups learnt about the importance of physical activity and challenged themselves to carry out exercises in one minute. Another year group learnt about states of matter and had the opportunity to watch water as a solid, liquid and gas.
