Year 1 Visit V & A Childhood Museum
Year 1 had an exciting and inspiring visit to the V&A Childhood Museum as part of our learning this term. The children explored a wide range of toys, transport and clothing from the past, helping them to understand how life has changed over time. This linked closely to our history topic on Florence Nightingale, as the children compared old and modern transport and discussed how people travelled during her lifetime.
During the visit, pupils used their English skills to identify and describe different objects, learning new vocabulary along the way. In the design area, the children enjoyed designing their own pictures using stencils and blocks, developing their creativity and design technology skills.
The visit supported learning across several subjects, including history, English, transport and design technology, and gave the children a hands-on experience that brought classroom learning to life. It was a memorable day full of curiosity, creativity and discovery.
