Today Year 2 visited St Michael and All Angels Church in Manor Park. Children met Father Lee who is a priest at the Church. Father Lee was very impressed by the children’s knowledge and understanding of the parables they had learned in RE. Children were able to recall the parables of ‘The Lost Sheep’, ‘The Good Samaritan’ and ‘The Wise and Foolish Builders’. Father Lee then continued by talking through the Christmas story and discussed the importance of Jesus to Christians. He also talked through the nativity and is very excited to come and see Year 2 perform this at the end of the term. Children then had the opportunity to ask questions they were very curious about. We found out that there was a likely possibility that Jesus was 33 years old when he was crucified on the cross.
