  • Summer Fun Zone Day 7

    Tue 03 Aug 2021

    Week 2, Day 2:

Our oceans are precious and so today we’ve been thinking about how to look after them.  Our mission for today was to create a poster to educate people about the Seashore Code- rules about looking after our marine life.  We’ve also learned about some of the prehistoric animals that used to live in our seas and looked at some of the weird and wonderful creatures that still do exist in our waters- have a look at a Sheepshead fish and a Blob fish and see for yourself!

This week we have been learning about Maritime week and we made posters on why we should save Maritime Life.I had fun this week because we were able to draw and write about why we should save our ocean and Maritime Life.

    Day 6

    British Maritime Week

National Marine Week is The Wildlife Trusts’ nationwide celebration of all things marine.  To start our focus week off, we’ve learned which words share the same root and are linked to the sea and come up with: Marine, Maritime, Submarine, Marina and Mariner.  Can you see what the link is between them all?  Once we discussed this we also talked about what sea life we knew of, learned new facts about some of them, for example, did you know that a lobster can grow new eyes?!  We collected our knowledge about different kinds of water transport and thought about why plastic shouldn’t be in the seas. As today was the first day, we’ve designed the front cover of our marine book and some of us have been using our eagle eyes to enjoy word searches that link to our focus week.

Today we're learning about the ocean and  our week is called british Maritime week.

I like the week because I like the ocean and its fun drawing animals in the ocean.
