  • Last Day of Summer Fun Zone!

    Fri 29 Jul 2022

We can't believe it is the last day of our Summer Fun Zone provision! What a wonderful week we have had together. We have particularly enjoyed making new friends and getting to know children that we hadn't met before from our school.

Our final activities today include our very special summer disco party with face painting, cooking our final dishes together and finishing our archaeology projects.

Thank you to all the children and the staff that have made this a very enjoyable week indeed!

  • Summer Fun Zone Day 4!

    Thu 28 Jul 2022

Today we are getting in the carnival spirit by having an exciting samba workshop with Newham Music! The children are enjoying playing together on the drums and keeping in time to create a piece of music.

Chef Gavin has also come into school to deliver a exciting cooking workshop with the children creating a chocolate mousse from avacado,  cocoa powder, vanilla and honey.

We are inspired by the UEFA Women's Euro tournament and have been doing penalty shoot outs and learning how to do archery.

Finally we are creating our print stencils that we will be creating pieces of art with.

  • Summer Fun Zone Day 3

    Wed 27 Jul 2022

Today we have a visit from Zoolab! There are many creatures that we have had the opportunity to learn about and see. We particularly found the Madagascan Hissing Cockroach interesting!

We have also been having fun with our friends on  the scooters, learning how to ride them safely and play some games like crossing the river.

Our archaeology project is still in full swing and today we are learning about and creating our own coins.

We have been learning some more tasty recipes that we could create at home - tortilla wrap pizzas are on the menu today and they are delicious!

    Tue 26 Jul 2022

This afternoon our KS2 pupils have gone to Manor Park Library and our Reception and KS1 children have been busy making fruit salad and creations out of salt dough. The children have excellent chopping and cutting skills as you can see!

We have had a fun-filled start to day two of our Summer Holiday Provision! Some of our children have gone to Manor Park Library this morning for a special session. Our older children that are attending have spent the morning being creative making artefacts as part of our archaeology week focus activities or preparing a delicious fruit salad!

  • Year 6 Graduation 2022

    Thu 21 Jul 2022

We are so proud of our year 6 pupils who graduated today! They looked very grown up wearing their graduation robes and caps and are without a doubt ready to embark on their new journey.

All the staff at SJH would like to wish each and every year 6 pupils the best for the future. Year 6, remember to take with you our school values; be resilient, be responsible, take risks, make use of reasoning and reflect on your actions. But, most importantly, try exciting things!

“Most of the really exciting things we do in our lives scare us to death. They wouldn’t be ‘exciting’ if they didn’t.”
-A quote from the book; Danny, The Champion of the World

  • Year 6 Prom

    Wed 20 Jul 2022

Earlier today, our year 6 pupils danced the afternoon away at their prom. They dressed the part and celebrated the year with their friends. Have a look at the pictures; these are some lovely memories to treasure! Tomorrow, the year 6 pupils will have their graduation at 9.15am. Look out for some pictures of this monumental occasion.

  • Final Assemby

    Wed 20 Jul 2022

We are really excited for our Final Assembly tomorrow! Our trophies are engraved and waiting to be handed out to this year's winners!

  • Keeping Cool!

    Tue 19 Jul 2022

Year 1 and Year 3 were due to have their sports day sessions today, but due to the extreme temperatures, the children enjoyed a fun water splash session this morning instead!

And this afternoon, everyone in school has enjoyed an ice lolly to help cool us down!

Keep safe out there in the hot weather!
