  • Girls Active Ambassador Launch

    Fri 20 Sep 2019

A major goal of the PE and Sports team at Sir John Heron this year is to continue to get as many girls in our school active and participating in the various sports opportunities that are on offer. As part of this some of our year 5 and 6 girls attended the Sports Tapscott launch of Girls Active on Friday 20th September. The main objective of Girls Active is to allow girls to become role models within their school, setting up leadership groups which focus on how they could make PE and physical activity more appealing to their peers. Well done to all the girls who took part, we look forward to seeing the girls lead physical activity games and sports in the MUGA at lunchtimes.

  • Reception Family Friday

    Fri 20 Sep 2019
On September 20th Reception had their first Family Friday. The theme for the Family Friday was Healthy Eating and keeping in line with that the classes made Apple Crumble and ate it before they went home. The parents/ carers were invited to come in and take part in making the crumble with the children and to explore the activities that have been left out for the children to play with. It was a fun morning that both the parents/ carers and children enjoyed! We look forward to seeing you at the next Family Friday on 11th October at 9am.
