  • Family Friday

    Fri 24 Mar 2023

    We had a fantastic turn out for our Family Friday session this morning. We enjoyed focusing on oral health/hygiene, healthy eating and exercise. We were busy immersed in making fruit kebabs, brushing teeth, organising healthy and unhealthy foods into groups, taking part in in an obstacle course, making healthy food in the Gruffalo Cafe. In addition to this, we had some lovely Mothers Day activities for children to take part in alongside their mothers, for example, making bracelets and necklaces, wreaths for our mothers, hand printing flowers and making Mothers Day cards. 

  • Bikeability sessions!

    Bikeability sessions have been taking place throughout this week for some of our Year 5 and 6 children.

     

    Children started off practising their cycling skills in the playground, and later this week, have had the opportunity to practise cycling safely on the roads! 

  • £860 raised by charity event!

    Thank you to our entire school community that have generously come together to raise £430 for Comic Relief and £430 for the Disaster Emergency Committee for the Turkey and Syria Earthquake Appeal! Well done SJH!

  • Fundraising Event tomorrow!

    Tomorrow we are fundraising for Comic Relief and the Turkey/Syria Earthquake Appeal. 

     

    Children are invited to wear red and white for non-uniform day and donate at least £1 if they can, and all children will be able to participate in our disco Danceathon!

     

    Additionally, Y1-6 pupils will be enjoying our fundraising event in the main hall and can bring up to £5 to spend on our stalls. Take a look at some sneak peak photos of what we have on offer! 

  • Year 4 weaving workshop

    Children participating in the weaving workshop with professional weaver, Bobbie Kociejowski, have continued their projects today! They will have one more session before finishing off their work - we can't wait to show you their finished projects!

  • Ark Farm at SJH!

    We were very excited to welcome the animals of Ark Farm into our playground this morning, despite the snowy weather, we had a fantastic morning with the lovely farm animals. We had our special Stay and Play friends join us who also had the opportunity to get up close to the friendly animals. Swipe right to see some of our photographs.

  • New Nursery Playground!

    We are so excited to announce that our brand new nursery outdoor area was opened to the nursery children today and they were very excited to use the new play equipment. We have spent this morning modelling and teaching the children how to use the new equipment safely and appropriately. We can’t wait to plant new plants in the flower beds in our new mud kitchen.   • World Book Day!

  • Year 5 Visits the British Museum

    Year 5 visited the magnificent British Museum today. We used the new Elizabeth line to travel there. Upon arrival, we visited galleries depicting history from ancient Mesopotamia as well as Europe.

    It was a memorable visit and we were able to make links with our previous topics such as Baghdad and the Vikings. 

  • Year 4 Art Workshop

    Today, some of our Year 4 children are starting a project with professional weaver, Bobbie Kociejowski! 

     

    The children will be weaving self portraits - we look forward to showing you how their projects turn out!
