Xylophones in Year 4 - W/B 29.06.26

Year 4 have been revisiting some of their old songs and units this half term and using the skills we have developed on the xylophone, as well as other instruments, to see how well we have improved. We have revisited tunes such as ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Lean on Me’ as well as ‘Blackbird’ among others. The classes also had a go at working in pairs to play two different tunes at the same time which was quite the challenge, but they did really well at it. Much fun was also had in singing those old songs using their amazing singing voices.

Xylophones in Year 2 - W/B 22.06.26

In year 2 this half term we have been spending some time testing the skills we have developed for the xylophone by looking at the different songs and tunes we have played throughout the year. We have played tunes from ‘Hands, Feet Heart’, ‘I Wanna Play in a Band’ as well as ‘Zootime’ and we have been looking at old videos of our performances of these tunes to see what we could improve for each one. We have also been practising singing an amazing song that we will be performing at our Graduation Ceremony - Reach for the Stars! It will be amazing and we hope our families can attend to celebrate and watch our performance.

Recorders in Year 6 - W/B 15.06.26

In year 6 this half term the classes are revisiting the recorder in their music lessons. In these first few weeks, they have practised the notes G, A, B and C. They have been using these notes to play along to some practise videos from youtube as well as playing along with music from songs they have covered from previous terms in year 6, such as ‘Happy’ and ‘You’ve Got a Friend’.

Revisiting Previous Learning in Year 3 - W/B 08.06.26

This half term, the children in year 3 are going back to and revisiting some of the songs and tunes that they have performed throughout the year. This first week back we focused on ‘Let Your Spirit Fly’ that they covered first in September. We sang through the song again and the children did excellently at remembering to sing the words correctly after so long. They also played along to the music using claves to help remember the rhythm and xylophones to play the melody. In further weeks, the classes will revisit other songs including ‘Three Little Birds’, ‘The Dragon Song’ and ‘Bringing Us Together’.

Revisiting Previous Learning in Year 5 - W/B 01.06.26
