Earlier today, year 5 took to Green Street to carry out some geography fieldwork in the form of a traffic survey. They did this to support their learning in answering the very important question; ‘Should the highstreet be closed for traffic?’. Pupils considered the following modes of transport: bus, car, van, motorbike and bicycle. Upon arrival, they positioned themselves safely on the pavement and started taking a tally, noting down which modes of transport they could see in a given amount of time. Next week they will analyse this data and think about the issues this analysis might reveal.
