NHS Oral Health Workshop for Parents and Year 1 Pupils
We were delighted to welcome an NHS Child Health Practitioner to school to deliver an informative oral health workshop for parents and carers. The session highlighted the importance of healthy teeth and explained how children’s teeth develop from an early age. Parents learned about the impact poor oral health can have on children’s wellbeing, confidence, learning, and overall health.
The workshop explored the causes of tooth decay and cavities, as well as practical ways to prevent them. Helpful advice was shared on effective toothbrushing techniques, choosing the right toothpaste, supporting children to brush their teeth correctly, and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
Following the parent session, our Year 1 pupils took part in an engaging workshop where they learned how to keep their teeth and mouths healthy. Through fun activities and discussions, children gained valuable knowledge about caring for their teeth and developing lifelong healthy habits.
