Year 1 embarked on an exciting London transport adventure, perfectly bringing their History learning on Travel and Transport to life. To experience different modes of travel firsthand, the children travelled across the city using the Elizabeth line, DLR, and Jubilee line, before soaring across the River Thames on the spectacular IFS Cloud Cable Cars. Our young historians spotted and sketched various vehicles, including passing boats and aeroplanes. Throughout the day, the children engaged in fantastic discussions about how transport has changed over time, reflecting on how modern engineering makes it much easier for people to travel around the world today compared to the past. The children showed wonderful curiosity and exemplary behaviour on every leg of the journey.
