  • National Gardening Week

    Mon 04 May 2020

This week we’re celebrating National Gardening Week (NGW), and the enormous benefits nature can have on our well-being - particularly during these challenging times.  NGW is the country's biggest annual celebration of gardening, it runs from Monday 27 April - Sunday 3rd May 2020. In school, we did a nature trail around the playground, finding elements of nature which intrigued and inspired us.  We collected leaves from deciduous plants and examples of bark and twigs, which we then drew and researched, finding out the answers to questions such as 'What's the purpose of a petal?' and 'Could we survive without bees?'.  Why not try your own nature trail at home, if you have a garden, or find the answers to these questions: Do all plants need leaves?  How do plants make food?  How can I tell how old a tree is?  Why is a tomato classified as a fruit? • What's happening at school?

    Thu 23 Apr 2020

We are back after the Easter break, however things are still running a little differently at school at the minute. Teachers are working hard to provide our children with excellent home learning for those that are staying at home. School is open for some of our key worker children and our staff are making their experience in school one they will not forget! Now the sun is out, exercise outside feels even nicer so staff and pupils are keeping active to keep healthy and have enjoyed playing some sports. It was lots of fun!
