• Reception Open Evening

  Parents/carers and excited youngsters visited our Reception classrooms earlier this evening to explore all the exciting activities on offer at Sir John Heron. Children and their adults explored areas inside Red and Blue Classrooms, the home corner, practical area as well as the outdoor area. • Metacognition Launch Day

  Metacognition Launch Day was a great success! We were delighted to see such a fantastic turnout of parents, who participated eagerly in the activities designed to introduce the important concept of metacognition.

  Metacognition, or ‘learning about learning’, encourages our pupils to think about their own thinking processes. Today, we explored the functions of the brain and how to use our brains to their full functionality, fostering a deeper understanding of how to learn effectively. Through interactive sessions and engaging discussions, children and parents were able to collaborate and discover strategies that can help improve learning outcomes.
