Murder Mystery!
Tue 08 Jul 2025On Tuesday we went on a trip to Bankside to crack some codes. We had a sheet of paper including clues to help us figure out who committed a fictional murder. The hints were shown on buildings or plaques. We saw many different monuments and shops from the Georgian period (1600-1700). Our main mission was to read the clues from the plaques and sheets then each clue gave a hint as to who we needed to eliminate as a suspect. This trip helped us with our code breaking skills.
Inayah, Silver Class
On a wonderful Tuesday, we went on an amazing treasure hunt at Bankside and figured out different kinds of variations of clues on our sheets of paper, to work out who was innocent, who was a fictional murderer and exploring different kinds of places to find some more clues. In the end, we didn't finish it in time, however we had the jolliest time and went to many places which made me really happy.
Aadhil, Silver Class
We went on a treasure hunt to track down a fictional culprit; there were many clues to consider as we walked around. We had to find answers to mysterious riddles and we had to find things like plaques, monuments and even initials that blended into our surroundings, which was very exciting but also a bit difficult.

Water Safety Assembly for KS2 by Swim School Newham
Thu 03 Jul 2025This morning Key Stage 2 pupils participated in a water safety assembly conducted by Swim School Newham. As we approach the summer break, it is crucial to ensure that our children are equipped with the necessary knowledge to stay safe around water. The children were introduced to essential water safety concepts, including the meanings of various flag signals commonly seen at the beach or swimming pools. For instance, the red flag indicates that swimming is dangerous and should be avoided, while the yellow and red flags signify the presence of lifeguards who are monitoring the area for safety. Sharing of this information empowers our pupils to make informed decisions when encountering water environments. As a school we believe that raising awareness of water safety is of utmost importance, particularly as families prepare to engage in water-related activities over the summer months. We encourage you to discuss the key messages from the assembly with your children, reinforcing the significance of adhering to safety guidelines while enjoying their time by the water. We recommend that you supervise children closely during any water activities.
