  • An afternoon at the opera!

    Thu 18 Nov 2021

The Year 6 trip to The London Coliseum

On the 16th of November, both Year 6 classes went to the London Coliseum to watch a dress rehearsal of The Valkyrie, by train. We left school at 12:00pm and walked to East Ham station and took the train to Embankment. When we arrived at the Coliseum, we were astonished by how colossal the inside of it was and how fancy the whole theatre looked.

The play was about a warrior who was injured and a woman let him in and healed him. When her husband arrived, he was furious at his wife and challenged the man to a fight the following day. As the husband was going to sleep, the water he drank was poisoned by the woman so he died. After that, the warrior was able to draw a magical sword out of a tree, which is how Act One ends. In my opinion, I liked this play but I thought there were still some things which I would have changed..

After the opera, we spent a little while in Trafalgar Square, looking at the fountain and Nelson’s Column. Lots of us had never been there before. We came back to East Ham station and arrived back at school at 5:00pm. In my opinion, this was a very enjoyable trip. It was exciting to listen to opera singers and a large orchestra.

He has racked up more than ten years in top kitchens, having gone on to work at Gordon Ramsay’s the Narrow, as well as Mac & Wild and Bonnie Gull in London.  In 2018, Gordon made it through to the quarter finals of BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals.
