    Thu 06 Oct 2022

Earlier today, the parents and carers of pupils in Maroon, Turquoise, Bronze and Silver classes joined us for the last of our open day mathematics sessions. In Year 5, pupils explored negative numbers and used number lines to explain their thinking when solving problems involving this. In Year 6, pupils used a range of methods, including pictorial (bar model) to solve multi-step word problems.

    After the session, parents/carers commented:

    "A very useful session."

"Brilliant maths workshop, simple methods on how parents can help their children at home."

  • Mathematics Open Lesson Day in Years 3 and 4

    Wed 05 Oct 2022

This morning, parents and carers of pupils in Years 3 and 4 joined us for mathematics. Pupils showed their parents how they use manipulatives to demonstrate their knowledge of place value, voiced their reasoning and showed off their times tables knowledge.

This is what parents/carers said after the session:

"Another great workshop! We learnt how children use their H, T, O and the number line to count."

"I really liked your teaching technique and it is very helpful for parents as well to teach kids at home."
