  • Easter Fun Zone Day 2

    Tue 05 Apr 2022

What a fabulous day we are having at our Easter Fun Zone as part of the HAF programme for 2022! Today was made particularly interesting as we had a visit from our friends at Ark Farm. The children enjoyed spending quality time with the animals as well as learning about them. We also learned some new cooking skills as we made cheese and salad wraps, we enjoyed practising how to use a knife safely to make this dish. We've been very active today as well, having a turn on the scooters and playing football and other games. Finally, we had the chance to make our very own dream catcher to take home with us! Hard to believe how much we have done in four and a half hours!

  • Easter Fun Zone- Day 1

We've made a great start to our fun filled week at the Easter Fun Zone, taking place here at SJH. Whilst the majority of KS2 pupils were doing some spectacular activities at Fair Play House, our EYFS, KS1 and Resourced Provision pupils went to Manor Park Library for a story session and to delve into a selection of books on offer. We have also taken part in some crafts activities, which has included making Easter bonnets.

  • Reception Educational Visit- Gruffalo Trail

    Thu 31 Mar 2022

We explored the magic of the deep dark wood with all the characters from the story 'The Gruffalo'. We saw the Gruffalo, Mouse, Fox, Owl and Snake on our trail through the woods. We enjoyed exploring the woods but were rather cold, however, we will cherish these memories forever.

This morning we had a fantastic Family Friday session on 'Healthy Living'. We had some lovely activities which focused on oral health (brushing teeth), making good food choices and exercise. • Year 3&4 Healthy Eating Workshop

    Fri 25 Mar 2022

On Thursday morning some of our parents/ carers from year 3 and 4 joined us for a SJH Fit 4 Life workshop. We looked at how much sugar is in some of the foods we eat on a daily basis and how we could switch to making healthier snack choices. Most excitedly we prepared Granola Pots and Ryvita Fruit slices together.

  • Year 5 Parent/carer Geography Workshop

    Tue 22 Mar 2022

Parents/carers in year 5 joined us today in school, and showcased their creative skills. They had to use material such as cardboard, masking tape, dowels, lolly sticks and clay to recreate one of the main structures in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. They worked very well in teams to create these!

Some parents/carers shared their thoughts afterwards:

"It was nice to experience something with the children. Thanks to the school to give us the opportunity to participate in the workshop with the children."

"Had an amazing time helping children with their Geography project. It got us creative and made children think of ideas to make the stadium."

    "Educative, interactive and fun."
