  • Girls Active Ambassador Launch

    Fri 20 Sep 2019

A major goal of the PE and Sports team at Sir John Heron this year is to continue to get as many girls in our school active and participating in the various sports opportunities that are on offer. As part of this some of our year 5 and 6 girls attended the Sports Tapscott launch of Girls Active on Friday 20th September. The main objective of Girls Active is to allow girls to become role models within their school, setting up leadership groups which focus on how they could make PE and physical activity more appealing to their peers. Well done to all the girls who took part, we look forward to seeing the girls lead physical activity games and sports in the MUGA at lunchtimes.

  • Reception Family Friday

It was a fun morning that both the parents/ carers and children enjoyed! We look forward to seeing you at the next Family Friday on 11th October at 9am.

  • School Parliament Elections

    Tue 17 Sep 2019

This afternoon, children from Year 2 - Year 6 voted for who they want to represent them in the School Parliament! Children wishing to be representatives had made campaign videos to convince their classmates to vote for them in the election.

The elections took place in the Hub and were very official - there were voting cards for the children to vote for one candidate and we even borrowed the polling booths and ballot box from the Local Council!

Good luck to all the children who are hoping to become our new School Parliamentarians! The children who are elected will be announced in school later this week!
