Year 4 visit to the London Eye!
Tue 27 Jun 2023We had the most amazing end of year trip! Our day started with a trip on the Elizabeth line and tube to Waterloo where we walked to the London Eye, past an iconic statue of Nelson Mandela and the Southbank Centre. Quite a few of us were nervous (including Miss Werrin) but we were brave and embraced the experience of going on the wheel which took us on a journey above the capital’s skyline. We loved it! We saw some of the buildings that we’d been studying for last term’s art project, the Houses of Parliament and the river that snakes through the city- The Thames. After we’d completed our 360 degree journey, we had a picnic and a run around in the big open space which has the London Eye as its backdrop which was wonderful, and then had a stroll along the river to the area outside the Royal Festival Hall to cool down in the fountain installation. The jets of water sprang up intermittently which added to the fun of the experience and then we were ready to head home.

Tue 27 Jun 2023Reception had a fantastic time at Barleylands Farm for our end of year trip! We saw many different animals such as; cows, sheep, goats and pigs. We also got the chance to pet and feed them which was very exciting and enjoy a bumpy tractor ride around the farm. As well as seeing farm animals, we also saw some animals you wouldn’t normally see at a farm. We saw snakes, meerkats, eagles and even hissing cockroaches! It was truly a memorable experience we will never forget.

Year 1 Visit Shah Jalal Mosque
Mon 22 May 2023During a Year 1 visit to Shah Jalal Mosque, pupils had the opportunity to learn about Islam and experience its practices. The visit began with an introduction to the mosque's customs, including the importance of modest attire and removing shoes before entering. Inside the prayer hall, we observed the peaceful atmosphere as the Imam demonstrated the call to prayer. We were encouraged to ask questions while being respectful and maintaining a quiet demeanor. We were all very excited to take part in the fun quiz designed by the imam of the mosque. The visit encouraged an understanding and appreciation for different religious traditions, promoting tolerance and cultural diversity among the Year 1 students.
