  • Year 5 Visits the Cinema

    Tue 17 Mar 2026

This week, year 5 visited Ilford Cineworld to watch the epic Viking tale: ‘How to train a dragon’. • Journalism Club meets Elena Morresi

    Thu 05 Mar 2026

Journalism Club and some of the writers from year 6 took part in a brilliant live lesson today, meeting the journalist Elena Morresi. Elena is a video journalist at the Guardian. Elena currently works on videos which analyse the news. She has previously worked on breaking news. You can see a collection of her work here:

    https://www.theguardian.com/profile/elena-morresi

Elena introduced herself and told us about her role as a journalist.  A member of the NewsWise team put our pupils' questions to Elena in an interview, as well as those from other schools from around the country.  At the end of the lesson, we did a fun fake or real quiz to put our fake news detective skills to the test!
